Sales & Kickoffs
A practical playbook for an SKO that energizes the team and sets the number.
A sales kickoff is part strategy meeting, part rally, and part celebration. Done well, it aligns the team on the plan and sends them out fired up; done poorly, it's a day of slides they forget by Friday. Here's how to build one that sticks.
Every strong kickoff does three things: celebrate last year's wins and top performers, align the team on the strategy, the number, and how you'll hit it, and enable them with the plays, tools, and messaging for the year ahead. If your agenda doesn't clearly serve all three, rebalance it.
An SKO needs a proper presentation space with reliable AV, room to break out into smaller groups, space to host the full team (typically 12–24 for a leadership-plus-top-reps kickoff), and a memorable setting for the awards night. A private estate does this beautifully — a theater for the main stage, breakout rooms for enablement, and firepits and dinners for the connection that turns a team into a team.

Budget on a per-person-per-day basis and remember the ROI math: direct-sales and revenue teams routinely invest $3,000–$10,000 per person on kickoffs because a well-run one measurably lifts quota attainment. Book winter dates early — they're the most competitive.
Iron Slide Lodge is a natural fit for an SKO or Presidents Club trip: exclusive use of the whole estate, a 16-foot theater for keynotes and awards, snowmobiling and adventure by day, and a private chef for the celebration dinners.
