The Basics
Where exactly is Iron Slide Lodge?
We're on the west side of Island Park Reservoir in Island Park, Idaho — about 30 minutes from Yellowstone's west entrance. See
Getting Here for routes and airports.
How many people can the lodge host?
The estate sleeps up to 24 with exclusive use of the entire 8,000 sq ft property — one team at a time, no other guests, ever. For business retreats we recommend about 10–12 guests, since smaller groups keep discussion focused; larger groups can book a custom retreat.
Is the whole property really private to my team?
Yes. Every booking is a full buyout of the estate. You won't share the lodge, the grounds, or any amenity with anyone outside your group.
Can we bring pets or a service animal?
The estate is pet-free, so pets aren't permitted.
ADA service animals — a dog trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability — are always welcome; just let us know in advance. Emotional-support and comfort animals aren't ADA service animals and can't be accommodated. See
Terms for details.
Sleeping & Rooms
What's the bedroom setup?
The estate has eight bedrooms and sleeps up to
24 —
six private rooms (each with a king or queen bed) plus
two shared bunk rooms. Still, we recommend about
10–12 guests for business retreats: smaller groups keep discussion candid, everyone engaged, and let senior leaders each have a private room. Larger group? Let's talk — we'll design a
custom retreat. See
The Lodge for photos of every room.
Are the bunk rooms private?
No — the two bunk rooms are shared, communal spaces (a favorite for late-night team conversations). The six named rooms are fully private.
Planning & Facilitation
Do you facilitate our sessions?
By default, your team runs its own agenda — we provide the space, the technology, and every logistic around it. If you'd like a professional in the room, we can bring in a vetted executive facilitator or coach as an optional add-on, priced in your proposal.
Can you help us plan the whole retreat?
Absolutely. A dedicated Experience Director helps shape your agenda, activities, and catering before you arrive. The easiest start is a
20-minute alignment call.
What's included versus add-on?
Every booking includes exclusive estate use, the full AV/workspace suite, Wi-Fi, and pre-arrival concierge. Catering, guided excursions, and facilitation are turnkey add-on tiers you layer on. Full detail on
Rates & Packages.
Food & Catering
How does food work?
Your choice of service level — from fully self-catered in the commercial kitchen, to local catered meals, to a full private chef program with bespoke menus. Explore options on
Catering.
Can you handle dietary restrictions and allergies?
Yes. Share dietary needs when you plan, and we'll build them into your menu — including allergy separation for group meals.
Activities & the Experience
What is there to do, especially October–April?
Snowmobiling — including guided tours into parts of Yellowstone National Park — ice fishing (with guided ice fishing by snowmobile), Yellowstone snow-coach tours, snowshoeing, guided fly-fishing, horseback rides, sleigh rides, and scenic hikes. Indoors: golf simulator, sauna, hot tub, theater, and game room. See
Experience for the month-by-month lineup.
Who coordinates the excursions?
We can. A single experience manager can vet every guide, schedule each outing, and bundle activity costs into one invoice — so you never juggle vendors. Or, if you'd rather, you can arrange and schedule activities yourself when you
build your retreat.
Can we come in summer (May–September)?
Summer (May–September) is beautiful, but it books out fast — often close to a year ahead, which is tough to plan a corporate retreat around. October–April has a quieter beauty all its own — snow-draped meadows, abundant wildlife, and Yellowstone without the crowds — and dates are far easier to secure. It's also when most executive teams meet: Q4 and Q1, around annual planning and the new fiscal year. Set on summer? Reach out as early as you can and we'll do our best to fit you in.
Working On-Site
Is the Wi-Fi strong enough for video calls?
Yes — commercial-grade Starlink Wi-Fi delivers 220+ Mbps, enough to stream 4K, run video calls, and keep the whole team connected. Details on
Workspace & Tech.
What presentation and meeting equipment is on-site?
A 16-foot theater/presentation screen, whiteboards, on-site printing, and AV equipment to meet all your needs are all included and ready for your sessions.
Booking & Payment
How do I book?
What's the deposit and payment schedule?
A 50% deposit locks your dates; the remaining 50% is due 30 days before check-in — all on one master invoice. We can also place a complimentary 48-hour hold while you align internally.
What's your cancellation policy?
More than 60 days before check-in: a 100% credit, transferable to any date within 12 months. Inside 60 days, the deposit may be subject to forfeiture as detailed in your booking agreement. Full terms on
Terms & Cancellation.
Getting Here & Logistics
What's the nearest airport?
Four airports serve the lodge:
Idaho Falls, ID (IDA) is closest at ~1h 25m, then
Bozeman, MT (BZN) ~2h 15m,
Jackson Hole, WY (JAC) ~2h 30m, and
Salt Lake City, UT (SLC) ~4h 30m — SLC is the farthest but offers the most flight options. See
Getting Here for routes and seasonal driving tips.
Is the lodge accessible in winter?
Yes — the roads are maintained and Island Park is a well-established winter destination. We recommend renting an SUV or four-wheel-drive vehicle from any of the airports. Highways and roads can close during bad weather; we'll advise and help if that happens before or during your stay.
What are check-in and check-out times?
For overnight retreats, check-in is 1 PM and check-out is 10 AM on the final day. The single-day offsite runs 9 AM–8 PM. Custom timing is available on request. Please keep to these times — we schedule a professional cleaning service between every retreat, so a prompt check-out keeps the estate ready for the next team.
